Retirement Orders
Required for Retirement Account to Be Divided
$499 Per Account
If you have a retirement account that needs to be divided, that will be addressed in your divorce paperwork.
However, most employers will not honor the language in the divorce judgment. Instead, a separate order which
specifically addresses the particular retirement account must be signed by the judge. The specific type of order
that is required differs depending on the employer or type of retirement benefit. We recommend that the
retirement order be signed simultaneously with your divorce. However, the process and requirements to obtain a
division of retirement accounts can be exacting and differs depending on the employer. You can still obtain a
divorce without entering this retirement order, however, there are dangers in waiting. You do not have to hire us to dothis for you, but if you are interested in us representing you to obtain a retirement order, we can provide the
service for a flat fee of $499.00 per retirement order. This service will be provided via email communication and
not through the bdivorced.com portal.
